Attackers managed to disclose Flipboard databases containing account information of certain users


Flipboard is a social media platform where it is popular for social sharing and news aggregator. This platform been used over 150 million people.

According to the public note published by the company, it is identified that unknown group of people (Hackers) managed to gain unauthorized access to it system for nearly 10 months. Between June 2,2018 and March 23, 2019 and finally on April 21-22, 2019.

Company has informed the law enforcement about the incident and it is still under investigation.


  ✦  Database exposed containing Flipboard user's real name, username, cryptographically protected password, email addresses and digital tokens for users who linked their Flipboard account to a third-party social media services

Solution/ Workarounds 

  ✻  Update the latest version of the Mozilla's Firefox on Windows, Linux and Mac.
